In 2022, our participation in Expo Dubai aimed to introduce the Urban Vineyards Association and its members.During this significant event, we developed a concept project named 'Desert Grapes'. The objective was to showcase how even in a hostile climatic environment like Dubai, an urban vineyard could not only survive but thrive.Luca Balbiano, Paolo Astrua, and Devin Shomaker, a UVA associate from New York, collaborated extensively for months. This collaboration resulted in a valuable partnership with Takenaka Corporation, a prestigious Japanese design and architecture studio responsible for project development.The concept, unveiled at the Waldorf Astoria in Dubai, raised immense international interest.
