Partnership

Collaborations that boast strong roots. Like our vineyards.

When we enter into a new partnership, we do so in the logic of creating a strong and lasting bond with entities that share ideals and values with Citiculture.

Together, we wish to bring to life innovative projects that are mindful of environmental and social sustainability.

Through great synergy and true passion, we are confident that we can promote important programs for our cities and the planet.

This partnership was created with the intention of combining Citiculture's innovative urban viticulture with Mercato Metropolitano's food philosophy.

A reality born in 2015 during Milan Expo, with the redevelopment of a disused railway station that saw the passage of more than two million visitors. A great success that led to the establishment, the following year, of the first London location. Today it has four locations in the English capital and is growing steadily.

Mercato Metropolitano focuses on three basic elements of sustainable development: social inclusion, environmental protection and economic growth. For this very reason, it was only a matter of time before it crossed Citiculture's path.

Mercato Metropolitano

Our shared mission to promote sustainable and ethical practices will lead us to create spaces that reaffirm the connection with nature and transform urban environments. Creating projects that blend agricultural innovation with food culture is where we want to start.

A meeting at the Politecnico di Torino with Prof. Danilo Demarchi, founder of the AgriTech degree program, kicked off this important partnership.  Professor Demarchi, who is recognized for his excellence in IOT, sustainable agriculture technologies and sensor technology, together with Dr. Umberto Garlando and Dr. Alessandro Sanginario, a researcher at the Politecnico, discussed various topics with our team. Including the importance of developing a monitoring model for all Citiculture vineyards, accurately examining environmental impacts and plant viability, with a keen eye on soil health.

This gave rise to the idea of collaborating to integrate sensors and deepen existing experiences, propelling research toward ambitious new goals.

Plant Health Monitoring

The goal of this partnership is to transform Citiculture vineyards into true open-air laboratories and driving forces for improving cities and promoting the health of local communities.
